Expectations and Responsibilities
Scholars’ Hall is a unique, essential, and potentially life-changing educational partnership with shared expectations and responsibilities between school, parents and the students. Scholars’ Hall is a small private school providing a superior education to children from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. Scholars’ Hall, a 25,000 sq. ft. building situated on 5 acres, has 21 classrooms including a full high school gymnasium.
Scholars’ Hall’s Responsibilities:
- teach a superior academic educational program
- treat students with consistency, understanding, and fairness
- teach students how to study, read, write and research
- assign homework and hold each student accountable for its completion and quality
- use instructional hours for teaching
- report progress frequently to parents and provide constructive feedback
- challenge students to reach their potential
Our Parents’ Responsibilities:
- raise your children to be civic minded, well behaved, respectful and well mannered
- instill and model positive and respective attitudes toward staff and other students
- provide ongoing insights and knowledge regarding their child in order to support a positive learning experience at Scholars’ Hall
- ensure that their child attends school regularly and on time
- support Scholars’ Hall with disciplinary issue decisions
- provide Scholars’ Hall with complete information and documentation regarding their child
- positively promote the reputation of Scholars’ Hall
Our Students’ Responsibilities:
- be good citizens, and respectful of authority
- take an active role in their own learning journey
- recognize that they are accountable for their own academic success
- take responsibility by making choices that lead them toward their personal goals
- take responsibility for their personal choices
- be neat and presentable, wearing the uniform appropriately
- display a positive and optimistic attitude
- comply with the Student Order and Discipline Policy and its consequences
- adhere to the Scholars’ Hall Code of Conduct
- respect the rights and freedom of others, including their privacy, personal property and physical and emotional security
- speak well and be inclusive of their peers
- positively promote the reputation of Scholars’ Hall
- maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
- compete class work, assignments, projects, and homework in a timely fashion and with due diligence
- be honest and trustworthy
- be a consistent and willing participant in school activities
